Desired Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse License (with ISBE/IEP designation) or Illinois Professional Educator License with School Nurse endorsement preferred
• Certified in Illinois Vision and Hearing Screening
• Current completion of CPR and First Aid training
• Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric care setting is an advantage
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with educators, families, and other health professionals
• Organized, adaptable, and compassionate in a dynamic school environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care and health assessments to students in grades 3-5
• Manage medication administration, treatment protocols, and emergency first aid as needed
• Perform mandated health screenings, including vision and hearing
• Participate in IEP meetings, contributing nursing expertise for student support plans
• Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state and district policies
• Educate students and staff on health topics, hygiene, and illness prevention
• Serve as a liaison between families, healthcare providers, and school staff
