Physician- Hospital Medicine

The West Virginia University Health System is the state's largest health system with 18 hospitals across West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Position Overview West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine, is seeking full-time faculty hospitalists (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor) to practice primarily in Morgantown and Fairmont, WV, with potential additional sites in WV, MD, and PA. The role involves primary patient care, teaching, and academic responsibilities. Responsibilities Provide excellent patient care in Internal Medicine/Hospitalist Medicine. Practice 26 weeks annually on the inpatient hospitalist service. Provide night coverage primarily for admissions and cross‑coverage responsibilities. Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in a one‑on‑one and team‑rounding setting. Participate in academic activities and specialty service lines (cardiovascular, oncology, etc.). Potential travel to additional work sites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania as needed. Qualifications MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) eligible for a state medical license. Completed an Internal Medicine residency program. Board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine. Must meet all qualifications by the time of appointment.
