Description UNC MFM located in Raleigh or Villcom is one of the largest maternal fetal medicine and obstetric imaging providers in the Triangle Area. We offer opportunities to work across the triangle at one of five MFM clinical locations. Hours: Sonographers work 40 hours per week. Options include 5 8‑hour shifts or 4.4 9‑hour shifts. Incentive Program Option 1: $25,000 incentive for a 3‑year commitment. Option 2: $20,000 incentive for a 3‑year commitment plus relocation assistance. Commitment Details: Incentives are paid every six months from the start date during the three‑year commitment. Summary Responsible for the independent operation of diagnostic medical equipment to expose complex diagnostic conditions, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations for a variety of OB/GYN scanning procedures (fetal echo, fetal anomalies, high‑risk obstetrics). Responsibilities Assist the radiologist in performing invasive diagnostic techniques specialized to maternal‑fetal ultrasound processes; provide standardization and training to residents regarding these exams. Consult with patients and evaluate any contraindications, such as medications, insufficient patient preparation, or patient inability or unwillingness to tolerate the procedure. Perform ultrasound procedures under general or direct supervision as defined by the procedure and/or physician; perform essential maternal‑fetal ultrasound examinations, such as detailed anatomical evaluation, complete fetal echocardiogram, growth assessment, fetal wellbeing (including biophysical profiles, maternal/fetal Doppler, amniotic fluid assessments), needle procedure guidance, examinations of maternal pelvic anatomy, and advanced diagnostic 3D/4D techniques. Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and record anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician. Assist the supervising physician with invasive procedures as required; analyze sonography findings throughout the examination so that a comprehensive exam is completed and sufficient data is provided to the physician. Recognize situations or abnormalities that require the direct observation of the real‑time scan by the radiologist. Image structures while simultaneously obtaining Doppler signal and recording images and Doppler shift recordings along with patient information for interpretation by a radiologist. Advise the radiologist and/or referring OB provider of examination results and provide preliminary information regarding diagnostic evaluation of the maternal‑fetal scans. Other Information Education Requirements Completion of a CAAHEP‑accredited education program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography / General Ultrasound or an equivalent certificate program is required. This requirement is waived if an ARDMS certification was obtained before December 2000. Licensure/Certification Requirements Must be American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Registered in OB, OB‑GYN, and Fetal Echocardiography (FE). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. Professional Experience Requirements Two (2) years of experience in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine. Job Details Location: Raleigh, NC.
