IT Teaching Assistant [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an IT Teaching Assistant based in the United States.

Support the next generation of technology professionals through live, online college courses designed to build practical and career-ready skills.
As an IT Teaching Assistant, you will mentor students, reinforce technical concepts, and help learners stay engaged and on track throughout the academic term.
You will work closely with instructors as part of an integrated instructional team, contributing to a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
The role offers opportunities to work across areas such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, networking, IT infrastructure, software development, and data.
You will support a diverse student population, including learners from communities historically underserved by higher education.

Accountabilities:

• Support and grade assignments for a cohort of approximately 30–40 students during an 11-week online course.
• Serve as a mentor, coach, and academic resource, helping students develop technical skills and professional confidence.
• Attend scheduled lectures and remain engaged with course content throughout the academic term.
• Lead online discussion sections that reinforce key concepts and encourage active student participation.
• Host weekly virtual office hours to answer questions, clarify course material, deepen understanding, and build a sense of community.
• Communicate regularly with students and respond to questions and messages in a timely, supportive, and professional manner.
• Provide constructive and actionable feedback on student assignments and academic progress.
• Help students establish effective study habits, stay organized, remain motivated, and successfully progress through the course.
• Collaborate closely with instructors to support course delivery and identify opportunities to improve the student learning experience.
• Contribute to an inclusive, welcoming, and student-centered online classroom environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Technology, or a related field.
• Previous experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or training others in technical subjects .
• Comfortable working with online education tools, virtual classrooms, collaboration platforms, and digital learning environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to learners with different levels of experience.
• Patient, approachable, organized, and genuinely interested in helping students succeed.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and build positive relationships with students in a remote environment.
• Strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple student interactions, assignments, and academic responsibilities.
• Experience or professional background in IT support, cybersecurity, systems, software, or another technical field is preferred.
• Previous experience with online teaching, facilitation, or virtual mentoring is an advantage.
• Currently pursuing a graduate degree or working in a technical or business-focused role is preferred.
• Willingness to support future academic quarters and/or multiple course sections is a plus.
• Relevant subject-matter knowledge in areas such as AWS, cybersecurity, networking, Linux, IT infrastructure, software development, databases, data visualization, or technical support is valuable.

Benefits:

• Competitive course-based compensation: $2,000 per 4-credit course per 11-week quarter.
• Additional compensation: $1,185 per 1–2 credit course per 11-week quarter.
