- Network Engineer### Job summaryDenver### Work modelHybrid2 days agoJob description## Requirements### Must have:* Four-year bachelor's degree.* At least 5 years of IT experience in systems/network engineering or network administration.* Exceptional communication and customer service skills.* Ability to explain complex IT issues clearly to non-technical users.* Self-managed professional who can prioritize time, follow through on open issues, and solve problems independently.* Strong troubleshooting ability and extensive hands-on experience supporting PCs and servers.* Thorough knowledge of PC and server hardware, current Windows desktop and server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IPv4 routing and subnetting, switches, VLANs, and 802.11 Wi‐Fi.* Familiarity with backups, firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Ubiquiti), remote access tools (VPNs, SASE), virtualization (VMware ESXi), Microsoft Intune and AutoPilot, AI deployment, and automation tools.* Current residency in the Denver Metro area.* Reliable vehicle and ability to travel frequently to client offices.* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.* Ability to work from home in a quiet environment with fast, reliable internet.* Willingness to work occasional after-hours and rare emergency on-call coverage.## Responsibilities* Provide consulting network engineering support for small and medium-sized business clients across the Denver Metro area.* Work independently to resolve client IT issues and reduce technology headaches.* Serve as a primary contact for clients, delivering friendly, reassuring support and clear explanations.* Handle a mix of advanced server and network configuration work, including VLAN setup for VoIP phones.* Perform routine support activities such as password resets and desktop assistance.* Complete administrative work, including logging time in our PSA system.* Communicate with clients professionally and maintain a calm, confident presence.* Remain available for rare emergency support requests, including occasional nights, weekends, and periodic on-call coverage.## CompanyRapid Networks is a growing IT consulting company and managed service provider serving small and medium-sized businesses throughout the Denver Metro area.
