Assistant Project Manager

Job Description

An Assistant Project Executive is responsible for supporting the administrative and technical management of a construction project. As an Assistant Project Executive, you will work alongside the Project Executive to steer the project forward and ensure a quality project is completed within time, budget, and scope constraints.

Experience and Qualifications

\n

\n
• A bachelor’s degree plus two (2) to five (5) years of experience in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related discipline. Experience in multi-family construction is preferred.
\n
• The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, can manage multiple priorities, and has strong management and communication skills.
\n
• Possess a high level of experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), including the use of formulas and pivot tables.
\n
• Must be comfortable learning and using technology including the ability to master sector-specific software such as ProCore and BlueBeam.
\n
• Must be able to travel locally to project sites as needed.
\n

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Assist with the analysis of project requirements to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
\n
• Review proposals for various scopes of work and award Subcontracts accordingly.
\n
• Consult with clients, vendors, or construction personnel to analyze and formulate schedules and resolve issues.
\n
• Assist with the preparation of cost and expenditure statements (and other necessary documentation) at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
\n
• Assess the cost-effectiveness of projects or services and track actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
\n
• Provide independent analysis of project management organization, contractual issues, schedules, and financial metrics.
\n
• Assist the Project Executive with job processes (RFIs, submittals, pay application, etc.) and negotiate subcontract change orders.
\n
• Monitor project procurement, including long-lead items, while interacting with consultants, clients, and construction contractors.
\n
• Prepare meeting agendas, take detailed notes, and distribute notes to the appropriate individuals.
\n
• Display an understanding of the overall project financials.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
\n
• Must be able to safely navigate a construction project site including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs, and climbing ladders.
\n
