The Advanced Telemetry RN at the Clinical Nurse II level is responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring, acute patient assessments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care: Monitor patients requiring continuous cardiac observation, perform detailed assessments, respond to acute cardiac and neurological changes, administer medications including non-titratable drips, and develop individualized care plans. Act as a compassionate patient advocate and provide education to patients and families on medical conditions and lifestyle adjustments.Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe and clean environment adhering to infection control and regulatory standards such as The Joint Commission and OSHA. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and report safety hazards promptly.Documentation: Accurately document all patient care activities and responses in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) following established standards.Professional Development and Leadership: Mentor new graduate nurses, new hires, and students. Engage in continuing education and serve as a resource for best telemetry practices. Act as Relief Charge Nurse when needed.Emergency Preparedness: Respond swiftly and effectively to cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias and chest pain, utilizing advanced clinical skills.QualificationsExperience: Minimum two years as a Registered Nurse in telemetry or equivalent intermediate care settings. Transitional RN candidates must have two years in acute care or similar environments.Proficient in post-procedure care such as post-cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion, and post-CABG monitoring.Strong skills in ECG/EKG interpretation and arrhythmia management.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment requiring quick decision-making and teamwork.CompetenciesTechnical proficiency with centralized cardiac monitoring systems.Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams.EducationBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
