Paralegal Position

Proxy Legal Staffing & Search Group has partnered with a well-established law firm in the Charleston area to identify an experienced Paralegal to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional with strong litigation experience who enjoys managing files, supporting attorneys, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities:

• Draft discovery and assist with the preparation of petitions, motions, responses, notices, and other legal documents.
• Manage litigation files and maintain ownership of case files and deadlines.
• Electronically file documents in both state and federal courts.
• Assist attorneys with hearing and trial preparation, including preparing trial notebooks.
• Order and organize medical and billing records.
• Coordinate client communications and respond to client inquiries.
• Schedule depositions and maintain calendars for all deadlines and important case dates.
• Provide general administrative and legal support, including document preparation, formatting, scanning, filing, transcription, and answering phones.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and other members of the legal support team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of paralegal experience.
• Paralegal certification is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet research.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Strong client-service mindset with the ability to multitask and effectively manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
