SD-WAN Network Engineer, Lead

Overview SD‑WAN Network Engineer, Lead. A well‑designed network is critical to move data and enable global organizations and users to achieve their mission. This role requires a seasoned network engineer who knows how to craft software‑defined network solutions for the Navy. Responsibilities As a Network Engineer on our team, you will work with the Program Management Office to provide network architecture design and system operational support to other systems. You will establish requirements, develop and evaluate technical solutions and architecture designs, and perform solutions analyses. Your tasks include analyzing the design of an enterprise migration and implementation plan for data centers, remote access connections, cross‑domain solutions, network ports, protocols, and services configurations while meeting Naval tactical network requirements. You will provide Tier III network support, monitor all operational communications systems and circuits, perform direct troubleshooting, and restore systems during unscheduled outages. You will analyze network activity and performance to identify potential network issues and inefficiencies and develop and implement automated configuration management software solutions, including software‑defined wide area networking and white‑box networking solutions. You’ll collaborate with SMEs in cybersecurity, engineering, quality assurance, and operations to learn strategic goals and operational needs that shape network requirements, participating in acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components and resolving interoperability issues across Naval platforms. Qualifications 10+ years of experience with hands‑on configuration of network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls. Experience delivering network engineering artifacts such as network templates, configuration guides, and network diagrams. Experience leading technical teams and interfacing with government stakeholders. Knowledge of L2–L4 networking protocols. Secret clearance. High School diploma or GED. Security+ and Cisco Certified Network Certification, including CCNA or CCNP. Nice to have Experience with Tactical C4I networks such as CANES, ADNS, STACC, or MQ‑25. Experience with SD‑WAN or software‑defined networking. Experience with network automation. Clearance requirements Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required. Compensation & Benefits Projected compensation range: $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD).
