General Manager - Commercial Construction & Specialty Contracting

McKeon Door of NevadaMcKeon Door of Nevada is seeking an experienced General Manager with a strong background in commercial construction and specialty subcontracting to lead the day-to-day operations and continued growth of our business.This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing a multimillion-dollar construction operation, including project management, estimating, field operations, financial performance, and business development.The ideal candidate has successfully led commercial construction teams, managed complex subcontractor relationships, and taken ownership of operational performance and profitability.Experience in commercial construction leadership is essential. Direct experience with overhead doors or specialty fire door systems is preferred, but not required.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Leadership & OperationsOversee all daily business operations, including project management, estimating, administration, and field supervision.Lead organizational planning, operational performance, and continuous improvement.Manage and develop department leaders, project managers, and supporting teams.Drive business growth, operational efficiency, and profitability.Financial & Contract ManagementOversee operational budgets, project profitability, cost forecasting, and financial performance.Provide executive oversight of commercial construction contracts, project schedules, and deliverables.Ensure accurate and timely payment applications, billing, and financial reporting.Monitor project risks, contract compliance, and overall business performance.Commercial Construction & Client RelationshipsMaintain strong relationships with general contractors, architects, developers, and key customers.Oversee complex commercial, government, and federal construction projects.Support contract negotiations, business development, and strategic account relationships.Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead and mentor office and field management teams.Establish accountability and performance expectations across departments.Collaborate with ownership on business planning and long-term growth initiatives.Required QualificationsMinimum 7 years of progressive operational or senior management experience within commercial construction or commercial specialty subcontracting.Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple construction departments, projects, or business operations.Strong understanding of commercial construction contracts, architectural plans, project schedules, and specifications.Experience managing operational budgets, job profitability, financial performance, and cost forecasting.Familiarity with commercial construction billing processes, including AIA payment applications.Experience managing project management teams, estimating functions, and general contractor relationships.Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management technology.Valid driver's license.Ability to work primarily from the Las Vegas office, with occasional business travel throughout Nevada, Arizona, and Utah.Preferred QualificationsExperience as a General Manager, Construction Operations Director, Project Executive, Division Manager, or senior commercial construction leader.Leadership experience within specialty subcontracting trades such as commercial doors, glazing, fire protection, mechanical, electrical, or architectural systems.Experience managing commercial construction operations generating approximately 5M–10M in annual revenue.Knowledge of overhead coiling doors, specialty fire doors, grilles, or related architectural systems.Experience managing government or federal construction contracts.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Compensation & BenefitsAnnual base salary: 120,000–145,000+, based on experience.Weekly pay cycle.Medical insurance options.401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.Paid time off.Company vehicle for business operations.Company-provided smartphone or tablet.Company-sponsored OSHA and manufacturer training opportunities.About McKeon Door of NevadaMcKeon Door of Nevada specializes in custom overhead coiling doors, grilles, and proprietary fire door systems for commercial, government, and federal construction projects.Serving Nevada, Arizona, and Utah, our team partners with leading general contractors and developers to deliver specialized architectural door solutions.McKeon Door of Nevada is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender expression, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, military service, or any other status protected by law or regulations.
