(SUS)SCHEDULE:Rotating 4 days on and 3 days off 11 to 12-hour shifts. Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESLayout, fabricate, assemble, mate, install, check or troubleshoot and repair production and prototype aircraft structures, parts and mechanical assembliesRead and interpret information from mechanical/structural, blueprints, planning, process specifications, diagrams, engineering drawings and sketches, and other instructions to determine the methods and sequence of operations to layout, assemble, and install precision parts and assembliesLayout coordinated hole patterns, cutouts, trim lines, mating points, assembly and installation locations using precision measuring instruments and equipmentAssemble and mate aircraft parts and assembliesAttach structural parts and assemblies using riveting and hand and power tools, hand trim and finishDrill, route, ream, countersink, spot-face and counter bore partsModify or rebuild parts to mold line or configuration changesModify aircraft structure, installation and mechanical systems in accordance with engineering requirementsPerform experimental and developmental work operations on experimental aircraft or assembliesAssemble prefabricated parts into assemblies and mate major sections of aircraft assembliesIncorporate major engineering changes and modificationsPresent a clean and neat work area to customersPerform other duties as assignedREQUIRED SKILLSAirframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate desired, not requiredMinimum of three (3) years heavy structural experienceHigh school graduate or equivalentMinimum of five (5) years' experience with various types of aircraft, power plant maintenance and inspectionsWorking knowledge of rigging and installation of operating mechanisms structures, assemblies and parts, related systems and equipment, and assembly shop practicesRequires excellent communication skillsAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to effectively coordinate with multiple departmentsPlanning and organizational skills necessaryComputer experience in Microsoft Office software productsAbility to pass background check and achieve airport badgeWORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions.
