Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Clinical Nurse is a registered professional nurse responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based, patient-centered emergency care. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, and execute effective treatment, ensuring high-quality outcomes for adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care by applying the principles of Relationship Centered Care and the nursing process.
• Assess and evaluate patient needs, utilizing critical thinking to develop and adjust care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and post-hospital care instructions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Conduct purposeful hourly rounding addressing patient comfort, safety, and needs, while identifying and escalating potential safety risks.
• Document nursing interventions accurately and thoroughly in compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.

Qualifications:

• Current NYS RN license with appropriate certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency medicine experience in adults and/or pediatrics.
• Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system; travel experience preferred.
• Certifications such as TNCC, ENPC, or CEN preferred, with trauma experience considered a plus.
• Ability to perform charge nurse duties and coordinate resource utilization effectively.
