Marketing Operations Manager

About Gold Shield Services Gold Shield Services is a growing, family-owned HVAC and electrical company serving residential and commercial clients in Chicago's northwest and west suburbs. Since 2016, we have built our reputation on quality, integrity, technical expertise, and doing the work correctly—not simply finding the fastest or cheapest solution. Gold Shield currently generates approximately $2 million in annual revenue, and our goal is to grow to $5 million over the next two years. Achieving that responsibly requires a dependable marketing operating system aligned with sales capacity, recruiting, production, and customer experience. The Opportunity This is not a social-media-only position, and it is not a role for someone who wants to manage vendors without owning results. We are looking for a hands-on marketing operator who can translate ambitious growth goals into an organized, measurable demand-generation system. You will work directly with the owner and company leadership to connect business goals, marketing campaigns, sales opportunities, production capacity, and revenue reporting. Your central objective will be clear: Build and manage a predictable flow of qualified HVAC and electrical opportunities that supports Gold Shield's growth from approximately $2 million to $5 million in annual revenue -without overwhelming sales or production capacity. What You Will Own Develop and manage Gold Shield’s annual, quarterly, and monthly marketing plans Translate revenue targets into required lead, appointment, estimate, and sales targets Build a marketing scorecard connecting source, lead, appointment, estimate, sold job, revenue, gross profit, and return on investment Coordinate marketing volume with sales, recruiting, and production capacity Build campaigns supporting residential HVAC replacements, electrical installations, service, maintenance, and selected commercial opportunities Develop lead-capture, qualification, booking, nurturing, reactivation, referral, and retention systems Maintain marketing workflows, pipelines, forms, calendars, email, and SMS automation in GoHighLevel Use ServiceTitan data to evaluate lead sources, booking rates, close rates, sold revenue, customer value, and capacity utilization Coordinate the website, local SEO, Google Business Profile, paid search, Local Services Ads, reviews, email, SMS, social media, referrals, partnerships, and community marketing Help develop the employer brand and recruiting campaigns needed to support operational growth Manage agencies, freelancers, media partners, and other marketing vendors Organize campaigns, content, creative assets, budgets, deadlines, approvals, and reporting Document marketing processes so the system can be understood, improved, and eventually operated by a larger team Report results, constraints, insights, and recommended actions directly to leadership What Success Looks Like Within the first 90 days, you will have: Audited existing marketing channels, accounts, vendors, campaigns, assets, tracking, and spending Established reliable reporting using ServiceTitan, GoHighLevel, and other applicable platforms Defined the opportunity volume required for each priority service line Created one campaign operating system and one executive marketing scorecard Mapped the customer journey from first contact through sold work and retention Launched and measured focused campaigns for priority HVAC and electrical services Improved visibility into lead quality, booking rates, estimate outcomes, sold revenue, gross profit, and marketing return Established a practical two-year marketing roadmap supporting the $5 million growth goal Longer term, success means: Priority production schedules remain filled approximately three weeks ahead Marketing volume adjusts intelligently as crews and sales capacity change Gold Shield has a predictable flow of qualified sales opportunities Marketing supports the hiring and productive ramp-up of a dedicated salesperson Customer acquisition does not depend on one channel, agency, season, or individual Leadership can see which sources and campaigns produce profitable work Marketing decisions are based on revenue, gross profit, capacity, and customer value—not impressions or raw lead volume The marketing function can scale as Gold Shield adds people, crews, services, and locations Required Capabilities Experience managing measurable lead-generation, growth-marketing, or marketing-operations programs Ability to translate revenue objectives into funnel and campaign requirements Strong understanding of CRM systems, pipelines, attribution, automation, and reporting Experience with paid search, local SEO, websites, email/SMS, reputation management, and conversion improvement Ability to manage multiple channels and vendors through one coordinated operating plan Strong analytical, project-management, and documentation skills Comfort working directly with an owner and leadership team in a growing business Ability to move between strategy, analysis, coordination, and hands‑on execution Clear written and verbal communication Sound judgment, curiosity, accountability, and a willingness to learn a technical business Preferred Experience Marketing experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, restoration, construction, or another local service business Experience with ServiceTitan Experience with GoHighLevel Experience with Google Ads and Google Local Services Ads Experience with call tracking and lead-source attribution Familiarity with residential and commercial service-business economics Experience building a marketing function or operating system from the ground up Experience supporting rapid multi-year business growth Experience
