About This Role The Staff Nurse in the Cardiac Surgery Stepdown unit at Mount Sinai Hospital is responsible for providing safe, competent quality care to patients based on nursing theory and research. This role is ideal for nurses who are dedicated to patient-centered care and have a strong foundation in nursing practices. Highlights Pay: $65/hour Location: New York, NY Facility: Mount Sinai Hospital Department/Unit: GP 7 West - MSH Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift What You'll Do Deliver patient care using the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care. Assess and evaluate patient care needs applying critical thinking skills. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team on care plans. Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care and health promotion. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing. Role model the tenets of Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care. Initiate service recovery for patients and families with concerns. Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying barriers for improvement. Document nursing practice to support quality and performance improvement initiatives. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable if matriculated in a BSN program. Experience: Relevant clinical competence in nursing practice; new graduates must possess current knowledge of the nursing process. Licenses & Certifications: Current RN License in New York State. BLS certification required. ACLS certification preferred. Cardiac experience preferred.
