Job Description

Join a growing manufacturing team as a Machine Assembler, where you will build custom machinery and material handling equipment using blueprints, layout drawings, and bills of material. You will assemble mechanical and electrical components, verify equipment performance, and support general fabrication tasks in a clean, well-organized production environment on a steady day-shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and build custom conveying and material handling equipment using blueprints, layout drawings, and bills of material.
• Use hand and power tools to fasten or install fixtures, wiring, and electrical components to create complete assemblies and subassemblies.
• Inspect, operate, and test equipment to verify proper functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer specifications.
• Perform general labor and fabrication tasks such as drilling, tapping, de-burring, chain cutting, installing rollers, and punching holes or slots as required.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and layout drawings to build or assemble equipment accurately and efficiently.
• Use measuring tools, including tape measures, to verify dimensions and ensure assemblies meet specifications.
• Operate a forklift (hilo) safely to move parts, assemblies, and materials as needed within the facility.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures and company guidelines.
• Use personal basic hand tools to complete daily assembly and fabrication tasks.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2 years of mechanical assembly experience.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and the ability to build or assemble from prints.
• Proficiency in reading a tape measure and using basic measuring tools.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools for mechanical assembly tasks.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with mechanical systems and components.
• Previous experience driving and operating a forklift (hilo).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily job duties.
• Basic math skills to support measuring, layout, and assembly work.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coopersville, MI.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Coopersville,MI.
