Senior Supply Planning Specialist

Job Summary The Senior Supply Planning Specialist will be responsible for ensuring effective supply planning for finished goods, achieving targeted service levels, while optimizing inventory and bad goods management, and maintaining close relationships with factory/co‑manufacturing locations. The role will also manage cost effective Supply and Production Planning as well as Co‑Manufacturing requirements planning functions. The Senior Supply Planning Specialist will oversee supply plans that optimize supply, service, and inventory whilst working with production constraints and total delivered cost impact. The position will manage short and long term (rolling 18‑month) capacity plans, identify and resolve potential capacity issues in close conjunction with factories, and ensure customer service and time objectives are met within existing financial constraints to achieve marketing and financial objectives. The position may be remote or hybrid, with preference given to candidates within commuting distance of Bridgewater, New Jersey or Arlington, Virginia. Responsibilities Recommend decisions for balancing supply needs across all available sourcing locations (factory, co‑manufacturer). Set, review, and maintain safety stock policy by SKU to meet agreed customer service level objectives while minimizing associated working capital costs. Manage bad goods in the P&L by monitoring aging stock risk, communicating with the commercial team to align on potential actions, and proposing preventive actions to minimize future occurrence. Reassess current inventory management processes and lead implementation of new planning methods and tools. Identify and analyze build‑stock needs and timing based on production availability and strategic decisions, communicating to stakeholders. Communicate with the cross‑functional team on product availability and critical items, highlighting risks of customer shortages, back‑in‑stock projections, root causes, and preventative actions. Present supply outlook (days on hand, service levels, projected working capital, factory performance) and strategic plans for the 18‑month rolling horizon and long‑term outlook to NHS leadership and other stakeholders. Gather all necessary inputs from other operational functions that impact the supply outlook. Lead budget planning and target‑setting activities. Review and propose meeting structures and contents to ensure alignment with manufacturing and other operational functions. Conduct weekly production reviews with manufacturing (factory, co‑manufacturer). Coordinate with the QA team on effective and timely product release, prioritizing products as necessary. Lead monthly production reviews with manufacturing. Coordinate communication and flow of transitions among various supply planners affected by major sourcing changes and projects. Develop the network of supply planning by leading and actively presenting in supply planning functional meetings with other business units to share experiences and contribute to company‑wide best practices. Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in a supply chain role, preferably in demand or supply planning. Strong analytical aptitude with proven ability to analyze/interpret data and develop solutions to complex problems. Fluency in MS Office, especially MS Excel. Transformational mindset and ability to navigate change management. Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Agile and team‑oriented. Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards and/or SAP highly preferred. Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed. The approximate pay range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000. Final compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
