Key ResponsibilitiesAs Technical Program Manager (TPM) you will lead large programs to develop new products from a concept to a released product in high volume manufacturing You will manage cross functional teams that consist of 20-50 people in functional areas including engineering, technology, manufacturing, field support, marketing and several other areasTPM is accountable for managing scope, schedule, resources and risks for the programsDaily activities include driving the program meetings, accelerating the critical path, guiding the team through the Applied Materials product development process, executive updates, risk management and planning resources (headcount, operating and capital expense)Functional KnowledgeDemonstrates depth and/or breadth of project management expertise; PMP certification is helpfulFamiliar with semiconductor manufacturing equipment design and technology; B.S. in an engineering field is requiredBusiness ExpertiseInterprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or servicesLeadershipLeads cross-functional teams in projects with significant resource requirements, risk, and complexity Must have effective communication to articulate requirements, priorities and improve team efficiencyPersuades team members to meet commits and make informed decisionsStrong organizational and time management skills are a must to manage multiple project teams at the same timeProblem SolvingLeads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutionsManages constraints to identify and drive critical pathImpactImproves speed and quality of new product developmentInterpersonal SkillsClear and concise written communicationApproachablePositive and energeticActive listenerPersuasiveResponsiveThe TPM role at Applied Materials is the best role to see how all parts of the company operate and rely on each other to grow a successful business.
