Lift Truck Operator

About the Role

This position involves operating a lift truck to manage materials within a warehouse setting. The role is crucial for ensuring efficient material flow and accurate shipment preparation. Your contributions will help maintain a smooth and organized warehouse operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and execute pull tasks for hard surface materials using a lift truck.
• Transport pallets via forklift to designated locations.
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately.
• Wrap and band materials on pallets for shipment.
• Prepare and package miscellaneous items in boxes for delivery.
• Tape and repair any damaged packages.
• Raise and lower dock plates as needed.
• Utilize the orange cone system for managing trailer status.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand on a lift truck for the entire shift.
• Capability to mount/dismount the lift truck approximately 15 times per hour using three points of contact.
• Capacity to work in varying warehouse temperatures.
• Strength to bend and lift up to 50 lbs., up to 20 times per hour for 8 hours.

Work Environment

• Schedule: Monday to Friday.
• Start Times: 11 AM on Mondays, 12 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 8 AM on Fridays.
• No set end time; work could conclude between 9 PM and midnight.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit or stand on a lift truck for the entire shift.
• Must be able to mount/dismount lift truck on an average 15 times per hour while using three points of contact.
• Must be able to work in a warehouse environment which may be quite warm or cool.
• Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs., up to 20 times an hour for 8 hours.
