Senior Project Accountant

What Youll Do:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Manage all aspects of job cost accounting for assigned projects, to include setup, cost tracking, and supporting forecasting and closeout. Partner with Field Operations to ensure budgets, costs, and commitments are coded accurately and reflect real-time project performance. Prepare and review monthly cost reports, projections, and WIP schedules. Clearly communicate key trends, risks, and actions to project leadership.Collaborate with Field Operations to understand changes in cost, schedule, commitments, and projected profitability to develop and maintain accurate project forecasts. Support owner billings and change order documentation, ensuring alignment with project progress. Reconcile job costs monthly and help identify and resolve discrepancies.Track and process subcontractor pay applications and retainage in coordination with AP and GC Pay.Maintain strong working relationships with operations, vendors, and shared services.Reconcile job costs and project financials monthly and independently investigate and resolve discrepancies. Support month-end close, including accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and other project related accounting activities. Identify opportunities to improve job cost reporting processes and implement workflow enhancements. Help establish and improve best practices for project accounting as FH grows. Who You Are:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldExperience in accounting, ideally with job cost or project-based financials with a general contractor or in the construction industryStrong understanding of construction project financials, including job costing, forecasting, WIP, billing, commitments, change management, and project closeout.
