Yard Laborer - 1st Shift

General Laborer Metal Recycling Yard

Pay: $17.00/hour Shift: 1st Shift

We are currently hiring General Laborers for a metal recycling and processing company. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a hardworking team environment. No previous scrap yard experience is required. The company is willing to train reliable individuals who are eager to learn and work hard. Candidates who perform well may have the opportunity to be hired directly by the company.

Job Duties

• Sort and separate various types of scrap metal by hand.
• Identify and organize materials in designated areas throughout the yard.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving metal materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow verbal instructions from supervisors and team members.
• Work safely around equipment and heavy materials.
• Assist with general labor tasks as needed throughout the facility.
• May operate a forklift or bobcat if qualified and trained.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labor throughout the shift.
• Must be dependable and have good attendance.
• Ability to follow verbal directions and work independently when needed.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Forklift or bobcat experience is a plus, but not required.
• GED or High School Diploma preferred.
• Candidates with a solid work history and good performance may be considered for temp-to-hire opportunities.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting, carrying, bending, walking, and standing.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds as needed.
• Comfortable working in an outdoor industrial environment.
• Ability to work extended hours and overtime when required.
