Software Development Manager, Annapurna Labs

Salary: $212,700 - 212,700 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• We require knowledge of engineering practices and patterns across the full software, hardware, and networking development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations.
• We require 3+ years of C, C++, or Rust development experience.
• We require 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience, with active programming proficiency.
• We require practical experience with network packet processing and embedded environments, including NIC development.
• Preferred experience includes communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, explain product capabilities, describe technical designs, and shape product strategy.
• Preferred experience also includes recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing software engineering teams to help improve effectiveness and technical growth.

• We will design and build features across the AWS Networking software stack on Nitro Cards.
• We will work closely with the team to dive deep into ENA Express, the SRD protocol, and L3/L4 networking to improve packet delivery, lower tail latency, and increase bandwidth efficiency.
• We will collaborate with hardware and firmware partners to define software and hardware interfaces and expose programmable capabilities to the software layer.
• We will partner with EC2 platform and service teams to integrate ENA Express features into the wider AWS networking ecosystem.
• We will mentor junior and mid-level engineers, lead design reviews, and promote strong engineering practices across the team.
• We will drive operational excellence by building observability, contributing to on-call health, and leading incident response and post-mortems.
