Maintenance Mechanic II - Marine Maintenance

The Town is seeking a qualified individual to work in our Marine Maintenance division of the Trustees office. This is a full time position, 40 hours per week.

Typical job duties include, but are not limited to:

Maintains operation of heating systems and electrical systems, painting buildings, general structural repairs, windows, doors, locks, etc. on Trustee owned properties;

Builds, repairs and maintain stairs and access facilities at Trustee-owned properties; paints stairways and handrails;

Operates power tools, both gas and electric, winches, pumps, mowers, small front end loader, etc.;

Maintains Trustee roads which includes removal of illegally dumped trash, deer carcasses and removal of soils washed onto Trustee roads during storm events; patches potholes, cuts and cleans up brush;

Fabricates, letters, silk screens, paints, refurbishes and installs signs on Trustee-owned properties;

Makes repairs to mowers, pumps, power equipment and performs light vehicle maintenance; maintains trailer equipment;

Mows, fertilizes, and seeds; installs benches and tables;

Installs snow fencing at Trustee facilities as erosion control measures;

Removes snow from Trustee parking areas, walkways and stairs;

Paints and marks parking diagrams adjacent to Trustee buildings;

Assists with installing osprey nests and other related activities;

This position requires boating experience.

CIVIL SERVICE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Either:

a) Completion of two (2) years of vocational education courses in a vocational school program or in an apprentice or training program in one of the craft areas; or,

(b) Two (2) years of experience in minor maintenance or repair work; or,

(c) An equivalent combination of education, or training, and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b); or,

(d) One (1) year of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic I.

Starting annual salary $66,168.72 plus full benefit package.
