Key duties include reading plans, measuring, operating machinery, performing welds, inspecting work, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace, often working with diverse metals and tools from start to finish. Key Skills & Knowledge Interpretation: Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and work orders. Cutting & Shaping: Measure, mark, cut, bend, and form metal into specific shapes using various tools. Welding: Join metal components using MIG, TIG, Stick, or other processes to meet strict specifications. Assembly: Fit and assemble weldments and other parts. Quality Control: Inspect welds and finished products for structural soundness and adherence to standards. Equipment Operation: Operate welding machines, grinders, cranes, and other shop equipment. Maintenance: Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and in good working order. Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Material Handling: Move materials using forklifts or overhead cranes.
