Electrical Engineer - Lighting, Power & Low‑Voltage Design

Job Description We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with 1‑3 years of experience in lighting, power, and low‑voltage consulting engineering to join our team of progressive, highly‑respected multidisciplinary engineers in our Westminster, CO office. Responsibilities Develop electrical engineering design deliverables including drawings, specifications, calculations, testing requirements, acceptance criteria, reports, electrical studies, feasibility studies/condition surveys, etc. Review and prepare project drawings including electrical site plans, one‑line diagram, demolition plans, lighting and power plans, calculations pertinent to the design, and panel and equipment schedules. Visit sites to collect existing electrical data and verify/confirm information provided on existing drawings. Collaborate with design partners for a coordinated design. Ensure design conforms with all applicable codes, adopted amendments, and client standards, including NEC, ICC Codes, IBC, and IECC. Use Coffman’s software to complete project invoices with billing specialists, manage and track project budgets. Perform load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and short circuit calculations. Perform photometric calculations using lighting software. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Self‑starter with a big‑picture mindset, able to link the company vision to daily work. Understanding of database concepts; working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resource files. Works independently and as part of a team; can lead when needed. Able to travel primarily within the local area; may travel outside CO. Qualifications BS in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical power emphasis. EIT in Electrical Engineering (preferred). Experience in electrical design for lighting and power systems. Low‑voltage design experience (preferred). Experience with AutoCAD and Revit. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience designing electrical systems for healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, federal/DoD, science and technology, and/or data center projects (preferred). Local AHJ experience and relationships (preferred). Experience with electrical studies using SKM, E‑Tap, EasyPower (preferred). Compensation and Benefits Estimated annual salary of $72,000 – $90,000. Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate. Competitive end‑of‑year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance. 401(k) with maximum of 5% contribution matching for 9% employee contribution.
