This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that's constantly evolving.Position PurposeThe Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in leading daily department operations, ensuring high-quality product production, maintaining attractive merchandising standards, managing inventory levels, and delivering exceptional customer service. This position assists with associate development, food safety compliance, sales growth, and overall department performance.Key Responsibilities Department OperationsAssist in overseeing daily bakery operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.Support bakery production schedules to maintain appropriate product availability and freshness.Ensure bakery displays are fully stocked, attractive, and compliant with merchandising standards.Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation throughout the day.Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory management activities.Leadership & Team DevelopmentProvide direction, coaching, and support to bakery associates.Assist with onboarding and training new associates on department procedures and standards.Help create a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and engagement.Monitor productivity and provide feedback to support associate development.Serve as department leader in the absence of the Bakery Manager.Customer ServiceDeliver outstanding customer service and ensure customer needs are met promptly.Assist customers with bakery orders, specialty requests, and product recommendations.Resolve customer concerns professionally and effectively.Promote a service-focused culture throughout the department.Support customer satisfaction initiatives and community engagement efforts.Production & MerchandisingAssist with planning and executing bakery production to meet customer demand.Ensure all products meet company quality and presentation standards.Maintain proper product rotation and freshness controls.Support execution of seasonal promotions, special events, and merchandising programs.Monitor inventory levels and minimize out-of-stock situations.Food Safety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.Monitor cleanliness and organization of production, storage, and sales areas.Ensure associates follow proper product handling and preparation procedures.Support department audits and corrective action plans.Maintain compliance with company policies and operational standards.Financial PerformanceSupport achievement of department sales, profit, labor, and shrink goals.Assist with reducing waste through effective inventory and production management.Monitor department expenses and productivity.Identify opportunities to improve sales and operational efficiency.Support execution of department business plans and performance initiatives.We also provide a variety of benefits including:Competitive wages paid weeklyAccess to up to 50% of your earned wages before payday, via our partnership with StreamAssociate discountsHealth and financial well-being benefits for eligible associates (Medical, Dental, 401k and more!)Time off (vacation, holidays, sick pay).
