Champion Communication in the Lush Lands of Oregon - Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist

Overview

What if your next position could transform lives by giving voice to those who struggle with communication? As a Speech Language Pathologist in the stunning environment of Portland, your role transcends the mere treatment of speech and swallowing disorders; it offers a chance to release potential, restore joy, and foster connections that transcend age-everything from toddlers finding their words to seniors regaining independence.

This position presents a remarkable opportunity to make a meaningful impact on individuals across all ages in a setting that seamlessly combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient duties. Whether your passion lies in pediatric language acquisition, adult neurogenic disorders, or geriatric cognitive rehabilitation, this role allows you the freedom and satisfaction to excel.

Description
  • Assess patients in pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized assessments and observational techniques.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
  • Conduct personalized speech therapy sessions focused on communication skills, language use, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing issues.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and caregivers, to create comprehensive care strategies.
  • Educate patients and families to facilitate progress outside the clinical environment.
  • Occasionally participate in inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure continuity of care throughout the treatment journey.
  • Document care accurately and promptly, adhering to all state, federal, and organizational requirements.
  • Commit to ongoing education and relationship-building with colleagues to stay current in the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
  • Possession of a valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred possession of the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for various age groups and a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Capability to modify therapeutic techniques to embrace diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation accuracy standards.
Benefits
  • Attractive salary that reflects your experience.
  • Flexible scheduling that promotes work-life balance and addresses a diverse caseload.
  • Opportunities for specialization in pediatric, adult rehabilitation, or geriatric services.
  • Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday benefits.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative atmosphere focused on high-quality care and continuous learning.

A Journey That Inspires Growth-Both Personally and Professionally

In this role, delivering speech therapy is just a part of your journey-you will be intertwining your expertise with a community that shares a mission of restoring voices and fostering joyous connections through the essential human interactions of understanding.

You will work alongside a team that prioritizes the well-being of both patients and staff, in an environment that celebrates collaboration rather than competition. Every story is different; we trust you to play a vital role in narrating them with compassion and skill.

Who We Welcome to Our Team

We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist who is motivated not only by measurable outcomes but also by the heartfelt narratives of those they serve. Someone who sees a quiet child and envisions their future brimming with expression, and who hears the tentative words of a stroke survivor and acknowledges their fierce determination.

Whether you are specialized in pediatric care looking to explore adult services or possess a passion for neurology seeking to infuse early intervention into your practice, we want to hear from you.

If you are ready to serve with compassion and lead with proficiency, we are eager to welcome you into our community.

Let Us Find the Words - Together

If you believe that speech encompasses more than mere sounds and therapy involves more than tasks-if you cherish building trust before tackling objectives and appreciate laughter just as much as language-then this could be the next beautiful chapter in your career journey.

Join us in a community that acknowledges communication, connection, and the bravery required to start anew. Apply today and contribute your voice to our team-help us guide others in reclaiming theirs.
