Responsibilities

• Assist students in understanding available financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study opportunities
• Guide students through the application process, ensuring all documentation is complete and submitted correctly
• Provide personalized counseling sessions to address individual financial situations and answer questions about eligibility and award packages
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions, applications, and awards in the institution’s database
• Collaborate with departments to verify student eligibility and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
• Conduct outreach activities to promote awareness of financial aid resources among prospective and current students
• Stay informed about changes in federal, state, and institutional financial aid policies to provide up-to-date guidance
• The ability to work two late nights per week till 7pm (Tuesday & Wednesday)

Skills

• Strong knowledge of higher education financial aid processes and regulations
• Excellent communication skills to clearly explain complex information to diverse audiences
• Proven ability to work effectively with students, providing empathetic support and guidance
• Familiarity with university systems and student information management software
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
