Deli Sales Associate

Location 1201 Dutchman's Creek Drive Job Overview Deli Associate – responsible for maintaining service areas, customer service, food preparation, and general store operations. Responsibilities Keep deli service areas well stocked and appealing at all times to meet customer demands. Smile, greet customers, answer questions, and resolve concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure freshness and condition of merchandise in display cases along with proper pricing and correct signage. Properly rotate product and handle spoiled, damaged, or near-expiration items according to company procedures. Operate slicing equipment to provide meats and cheeses based on customer preferences. Package items and apply stickers showing price, weight, and date. Prepare ready-to-eat foods to individual customer orders. Prepare platters of sliced meats, cheeses, and vegetable trays, using safe knife and utensil practices. Adhere to company recipes and safety policies when preparing foods such as chicken, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and other hot or cold items. Operate cash register operations and follow policies to ensure proper money handling, avoiding cash overages or shortages. Adhere to company and state laws related to tobacco and alcohol sales. Maintain general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines to meet health and OSHA requirements. Dispose of trash properly. Assist in inventory control through time and temperature practices, minimizing losses by returning products to refrigeration, properly handling items, keeping logs, and following company recipes. Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained (training provided). Assist with receiving, unloading, checking‑in, breaking‑down, and storing deliveries, operating a power jack or hand jack if trained (training provided). Ensure smooth operation of the department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and superiors. Continuously improve job performance. Utilize all company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) such as cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear. Assist in other departments as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications Education and/or experience: Completed or working toward a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). No prior experience required. Compensation and Benefits Hourly pay: Starts at $16.00 and can reach up to $24.00.
