Classification Counselor 2 (CC2) – Teamsters Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC) Full-time- Permanent This recruitment may be used to fill further permanent and/or temporary positions. The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Classification Counselor 2 (CC2) at the Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC), located in Monroe, WA. This bulletin may be used to fill multiple CC2 vacancies at MCC as they occur. The Department of Corrections, as a partner in the criminal justice system, enhances public safety, administers criminal sanctions and programs in accordance with the law, and provides leadership for the future of corrections in Washington State. The Department consists of the Office of the Secretary, Prisons Division, Community Corrections Division, Administrative Services Division, and Health Services. Facility Profile: The Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC) is a 2400-bed male all-custody level facility located 30 miles northeast of Seattle. Employing approximately 1200 staff, the complex consists of five major units: the Washington State Reformatory Unit (WSRU), Sky River Treatment Center (SRTC), Twin Rivers Unit (TRU), Intensive Management Unit (IMU), and the Minimum-Security Unit (MSU). Services provided at the Monroe Correctional Complex include custody and security, classification, education, incarcerated work programs, health care (both patient and outpatient), mental health care, sex offense treatment, food service, maintenance, personnel, recreation, volunteer services, religious services, library services, Incarcerated Individual records, visiting and extended family visits. Required Qualifications: Five years of experience in adult corrections, juvenile corrections, rehabilitation, or social casework. OR Satisfactory completion of two years of college level credit classes (60 semesters or 90 quarter credits) and three years of experience in adult corrections, juvenile corrections, rehabilitation or social casework. OR One year has a Classification Counselor 1 in Washington State service to include, at a minimum satisfactory completion of two years of college level credit classes (60 semester or 90 quarter credits). Preferred/Desired Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in sociology, psychology, social work, criminology, or closely related field from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or foreign equivalent, and one year of social service or corrections experience. A master's degree in sociology, psychology, social work, criminology, or closely related field will substitute for the year of required experience.
- Note: Corrections experience means the focus of the work is dealing directly with incarcerated individuals a majority of the time.

The successful candidate may be required to provide valid proof of a baseline TB skin test within 60 days from the date of hire. When positive tests result, further information, testing and treatment will also be required. Employment is not contingent upon test results. Requires respirator medical evaluation questionnaire, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by the WA Industrial Safety & Act standards. Refer to WAC 296-842 to learn more. Must be able to work in spaces, climb stairs, walk long distances, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds. Under rare circumstances this position may be required to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds.
