About the Role

ASI is hiring a Pump Foreman to run day-to-day pump operations alongside our COO. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be in the field running jobs, on the phone scoping the next one, and in the shop keeping the fleet ready. You'll lead crews, own the equipment, and make sure every job gets done right and on time.

Our work spans utility, commercial, and agricultural irrigation projects across Florida. If you take pride in your work and your equipment and want a seat at the table on how the operation runs, this is your role.

What You'll Do

Lead the pump crews:

- Run daily crew assignments and dispatch with the COO

- Build weekly schedules around project pipeline, crew, and equipment readiness

- Train and mentor pump techs and laborers; run toolbox talks and pre-job safety briefings

- Manage time tracking, daily reports, and crew accountability

Scope and execute projects:

- Walk job sites to scope upcoming work — pumps, motors, panels, accessories

- Anticipate site conditions: access, crane scope, discharge routing, head/flow requirements

- Coordinate with GCs, site supers, and customers on logistics and timing

- Lead crews on complex jobs

Manage equipment:

- Own the PM schedule for equipment, trailers, trucks, and support gear

- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues; coordinate larger repairs

- Manage parts inventory and reorder thresholds

- Track DOT compliance on company vehicles

Source rentals:

- Coordinate rental equipment when in-house fleet is committed

- Track rental in/out and return condition to avoid damage charges

- Maintain relationships with rental / crane companies

Fabricate and field-repair:

- Weld (MIG/stick), cut, and torch for discharge piping, brackets, and custom fittings

- Fabricate manifolds, sleds, and skids for site-specific applications

Stay organized:

- Submit daily logs as requested by COO and accounting team

- Communicate progress, delays, and change conditions to COO and customer

- Review crew timecards before payroll cutoff

What We're Looking For

Required:

- 3+ years in pump operations, dewatering, irrigation, or related work

- 1+ years in a lead or foreman role

- Proficient welding, cutting, and torch work

- Mechanical aptitude for diesel engines, centrifugal and submersible pumps

- Valid driver's license

- OSHA 10 or 30 (or willing to obtain)

- Ability to read site plans and basic hydraulic calcs

- Comfortable with smartphone apps for scheduling, reporting, and communication

- Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls

- Competent rigger — able to size slings, plan lifts, and signal crane operators

Preferred:

- CDL — not required; ASI will pay to upgrade the right candidate

- Experience with utility bypass, agricultural irrigation systems, or commercial pump packages

- Familiarity with Flowserve, Xylem, Grundfos, Goulds, or similar

- Confined space, trenching/excavation, traffic control certifications

Compensation & Benefits

- $25–$36/hr depending on experience (OT-eligible)

Physical Requirements

- Travel to regional Florida job sites; occasional overnight

- Lift 75+ lbs; work in trenches, around water, and in all weather
