Corporate Development Associate

This role sits at the center of an M&A team, focused on building a strong pipeline of acquisition opportunities across the software sector. You’ll proactively identify prospective businesses and initiate conversations with founders, owners, and senior executives. The position combines business development, relationship building, market research, and strategic outreach. You’ll have significant autonomy to manage your pipeline, experiment with new approaches, and improve the way opportunities are sourced and tracked. Success in this role requires resilience, strong communication, commercial awareness, and a consistent focus on measurable goals. Accountabilities:

Proactively identify and source software businesses that align with the organization’s acquisition and investment objectives. Build and manage a robust M&A pipeline through research, prospect identification, and targeted outreach. Lead outbound prospecting initiatives and initiate conversations with business owners, founders, and senior executives. Build trust and establish strong professional relationships with key decision-makers throughout the acquisition process. Nurture long-term relationships and position the organization as a credible and trusted acquisition partner. Develop and test new outreach strategies, processes, and approaches to improve pipeline generation and engagement. Take ownership of assigned goals and independently manage day-to-day business development activities. Use the M&A CRM to track prospects, manage pipeline activity, maintain accurate records, and support data-driven decision-making. Monitor outreach results and use available data to refine prospecting strategies and improve effectiveness. Represent the organization professionally in conversations with senior stakeholders and prospective acquisition targets. Follow opportunities through complex engagement cycles with persistence, organization, and a results-oriented mindset. Requirements

2–5 years of experience in M&A is preferred. Demonstrated experience in business development, relationship management, prospecting, or another target-driven commercial environment. Strong business acumen and an understanding of business operations, enabling you to quickly assess potential opportunities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with founders, owners, and C-suite executives. Strong executive presence, professionalism, and maturity when engaging with senior decision-makers. Highly proactive and self-motivated, with a proven ability to take initiative and work independently. Goal-oriented mindset with the resilience and persistence required to manage outreach and complex relationship-building activities. Entrepreneurial approach and willingness to experiment with new methods and improve established processes. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple prospects and priorities effectively. Comfortable using CRM systems and other digital tools to manage pipelines, activities, and relationship data. Positive, adaptable, and collaborative approach, while remaining accountable for individual results. Ability to articulate ideas clearly, assess opportunities thoughtfully, and maintain professional relationships over the long term. Benefits
