Medical Assistant Great opportunity for a new-grad who is pre-med, or looking to expand their career in the health and medical field, but willing to work fulltime for the next 1-2 years to gain hands on patient care experience and surgical assisting experience! The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the daily operations of a busy dermatology clinic. This position supports providers by acting as a scribe, rooming patients, assisting with procedure preparation, and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The Medical Assistant also works extensively within electronic medical record and scheduling systems to ensure accurate documentation and efficient patient flow while maintaining a friendly and professional atmosphere for patients, staff, and providers. Responsibilities Act as a scribe for providers, accurately documenting patient encounters in the electronic medical record systems. Room patients efficiently, obtain and document relevant medical information, and prepare them for examinations and procedures. Assist providers with the preparation and setup for dermatological procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready. Support patient care activities, including basic clinical tasks appropriate to a Medical Assistant or LPN in a dermatology setting. Use electronic medical record systems to enter, update, and maintain accurate patient information and clinical documentation. Use scheduling software, including Eclipse scheduling database and MediNotes systems, to manage appointments and support clinic workflow. Assist with appointment scheduling, patient check-in, and check-out processes as needed to support clinic operations. Work collaboratively with providers, nurses, and other clinic staff to promote a friendly, efficient, and patient-centered environment. Adapt to a fast-paced dermatology clinic, managing a steady patient volume while maintaining attention to detail and quality of care. Participate in triage activities, including handling patient calls and routing clinical concerns appropriately, where assigned. Support multiple clinic locations or schedules as needed, ensuring consistent and reliable coverage within the dermatology practice. Essential Skills Ability to train and work effectively in a fast-paced dermatology clinic. Hands-on experience with electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical record systems. Experience with appointment scheduling in a clinical setting. Ability to act as a scribe for providers and document accurately in real time. Strong patient care skills and commitment to providing compassionate, professional service. Ability to collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinical staff in a team-based environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in dermatology, surgical tech, EMT, or related medical assisting roles is a plus but not required. Experience with Epic electronic health record system is beneficial. Familiarity with Eclipse scheduling database and MediNotes systems is an advantage. Experience in specialty clinics is helpful. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accuracy in a high-volume clinic. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and clinical staff. Schedule Schedule is 8 hour shifts. Monday-Friday Monday and Friday working at the Wauwatosa Clinic Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday working at the Menomonee Falls Clinic Job Type & Location This is a contract position based out of Menomonee Falls, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
