Assistant Professor of Clinical - Pediatrics, Nephrology (Division Chief)

Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational direction for the Division of Pediatric Nephrology, coordinating clinical, research, and educational activities across Holtz Children’s Hospital and outpatient clinics. Develop and implement clinical, administrative, and regulatory policies in alignment with hospital and MSOM standards, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, and other accrediting agencies. Lead the division’s clinical services, including care for patients with nephrotic syndrome, FSGS, proteinuria, SLE nephropathy, hypertension, obstructive uropathy, HIV nephropathy, and other pediatric renal conditions. Oversee day‑to‑day operations, staffing, equipment needs, and quality improvement initiatives to deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective patient care. Maintain and grow the division’s research portfolio, pursuing NIH R01 or equivalent grants, career development awards, and foundation support; conduct clinical trials and patents. Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows, ensuring compliance with licensing and credentialing requirements. Supervise the Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program, ensuring accreditation standards are met and the program remains nationally recognized. Represent the division in philanthropy, public relations, and community outreach activities, fostering relationships with private and public partners. Develop and manage the on‑call schedule to provide inpatient and outpatient coverage across all shifts. Qualifications Medical degree (MD/DO) with board certification in pediatric nephrology. Minimum 3–5 years of administrative experience. Demonstrated success in clinical growth and operational leadership. Track record of mentorship and educational leadership. Established research portfolio, with NIH funding highly desirable but not required. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to faculty development and provider wellness.
