Join a workplace where your contributions are valued every day — apply now! Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Requirements & Responsibilities A nursing degree from an accredited college or university. Current unrestricted license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the practicing state. Current CPR certification. Directs the daily activities of the geriatric nursing assistants in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies. Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents. Participates in the admission, discharge, and transfer of residents as required. Assesses changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly. Transcribes physician orders to the medical record and carries out orders as written. Prepares and administers medications per physicians’ orders and observes for adverse effects. Performs wound treatments per physicians’ orders, observes for changes, and documents accordingly.
