Tax Partner - Banking & Financial Institutions

RSM has an exciting opportunity for a Tax Partner to join our Financial Services (FS) practice and focus on building out our Banking tax practice throughout the New York and Northeast Markets. This role provides an opportunity to join a high-performing, high-growth tax practice while working with complex clients in the Banking space. As a Tax Partner, you will lead the efforts of multiple teams on client engagements and drive growth and profitability by generating new revenue on existing clients, cross-selling into other lines of business, and developing new clients for the practice. This Partner will work closely with RSM’s National Financial Services tax industry leader to develop strategies and initiatives to further grow the Banking tax practice. As a Tax Partner with RSM, you will have an important role in mentoring and coaching our people to achieve challenging and rewarding careers and developing them into future leaders for our firm. Basic Qualifications 12+ years of experience in business taxation working for a Big 4 or a large national or regional accounting firm; or equivalent in law firms or industry with a focus on Banking & Financial Institution clients. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting CPA or JD Extensive tax compliance & consulting experience serving Financial Services clients Must be able to support financial growth efforts and manage a book of business. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications A proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients Project management and critical thinking skills Ability to generate new business and extend service opportunities Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740 We offer a competitive benefits and compensation package for all our people.
