About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour PM-AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required not specified License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications preferred Must-Have: - Surgical experience - Experience caring for patients after vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery - Ability to manage chest tubes, lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients - Experience with drips including diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone - Competence in telemetry and care for complex wounds - Ability to perform central line care, maintenance, and blood draws Description: The position is for a registered nurse in a surgical unit. Candidates must have experience in a 32-bed surgical unit. Common diagnoses include ARDS, esophagectomies, whipple procedures, and sepsis. LNA ratios to patients are 1:7-11, as this unit shares with another unit. RN patient ratios on days are 4:1, and on nights are 5:1. Travelers may be expected to float to other areas as needed.
