Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center are seeking a clinical leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine in Newark, NJ.

The Chair will practice within the department, oversee all clinical activities, and provide leadership and support for academic activities. Responsibilities include supervising residents, educating staff, and driving quality improvement initiatives to advance the robust emergency medicine department.

Responsibilities

• Strong clinical leadership experience and a track record of improving quality and safety.
• Commitment to academic excellence, including prior experience in resident education and clinical research.
• Oversee clinical operations, develop policies, and implement improvement initiatives.
• Supervise and mentor residents, faculty, and advanced practice providers.
• Partner with other clinical service lines to enhance efficiency, safety, and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
• At least 5 years of academic leadership experience.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong clinical background.
• Deep understanding of how to drive and maintain clinical quality standards.

Salary

The anticipated salary range for this position is $350,000 to $480,000 per year. Compensation will be based on the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
