Requirements Robert Wood Johnson- Clara Maas Medical Center NICU needs 2 Neonatology APP's starting ASAP. **Prefer and need providers who live in the tristate area in case of emergencies.** Level II special care nursery NICU. Provider MUST be comfortable performing neonate resuscitation. Description of Work Assignment Cover well baby Nursery, attend all deliveries. Average daily census for nursery 5 and 5 deliveries. Schedule of Days/Times Needed to Work/ Shift Hours: 12 hour shifts 7 days a week. 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am. The shifts are not limited to specific days and could be a combination of 12 hour days, nights, or 24 hour shifts. This could include weekdays or weekends. On call? NO Patient Load Approx 10-12 patients Board Status Requirement (BC/BE) Is there additional support staff? No Is the provider working solo or with other providers? If so, whom? Solo with physician on back up call Trauma Level of Work Location NO EMR System? Epic Is the Clinic EMR Different from the Hospital EMR? NO List of individuals interviewing candidate: Bellipady Rai and Lisa Occhipinti-Malecki Time Sheet Approver (once physician is hired) Leilani Vazquez Additional Questions: Are they expected to see patients in the nursey overnight and if so, how often? If there are issues with any babies, then they will need to be seen. Otherwise, flowsheet rounds and a check in with the nurses should be adequate on night coverage. How many people are in the delivery room and what are the specialties? You are the sole pediatric provider in the hospital except when the Neonatologist rounds in the morning, the L&D staff is trained in resuscitation. Is there a respiratory therapist? If there is an emergency, do the patients get transported to Robert Johnson? There is a hospital respiratory therapist. Patients needing advanced care are transferred to NBIMC. If a baby needs to be transferred, a neonatologist or APP will accompany the ambulance to pick up the baby. How far is the Neonatologist if there is an emergency? The neonatologist at NBIMC is available by phone. If there was an expectant delivery requiring the neonatologist, they may be able to commute from NBIMC to CMMC (1/2 hour drive) to attend the delivery if there is adequate time to plan. What deliveries are the NPs attending? Only special/ scheduled deliveries or all of them? All Cesarean sections will be attended and then any high risk vaginal deliveries will need to be attended, or deliveries as requested by OB.
