CNC Machinist (Direct Hire)Wabtec is hiring an experienced CNC Machinist for a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for setting up and operating multiple CNC machine tools while maintaining precision, quality, safety, and productivity standards.Education RequirementsAssociate degree in Machine Tool Technology preferredHigh school diploma or GED requiredExperience RequirementsMinimum 5 years of CNC machining experienceAbility to interpret and edit CNC programsExperience navigating FANUC controlsKnowledge of GD&T symbols and inspection methodsUnderstanding of shop math, trigonometry, and the Pythagorean theoremAbility to read complex engineering blueprints, tool prints, and sketchesKnowledge of basic rigging, crane operation, and hoist safetyJob DutiesSet up and operate multiple CNC machine toolsComplete machining processes from initial setup through finished productionEdit CNC programs and adjust wear and geometry offsetsUse Renishaw probing systemsSet up and operate coordinate measuring machinesInspect finished parts using gauges and engineering blueprintsComplete first-article inspections and documentationEnter SPC data and adjust machining processes based on resultsTroubleshoot equipment and production concernsPerform scheduled equipment inspectionsMaintain daily 5S standardsSupport Kaizen, SMED, fixture design, and other continuous improvement activitiesPhysical CapabilitiesStand and walk throughout the shiftFrequently lift and move up to 30 poundsUse hands and arms to operate tools, controls, and equipmentOccasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlMeet the visual requirements necessary for precision inspection workBenefitsVary by client and are confirmed at the time of offer.
