CNC Controls Wiring Technician

Location: Wixom, MI 48393

Pay Rate: $24.00 – $29.00 per hour

Employment Type: Direct Hire / Permanent

Travel Requirements: Up to 25%

A day in this role

When you start your shift in our Wixom facility, you step into a hands-on environment where precision matters. You lay out wiring harnesses, route neatly through enclosures, and build control panels that power CNC milling and turning machines. With a schematic at your bench, you connect motors, sensors, encoders, and control systems, verifying each termination before moving on. You perform continuity and insulation resistance checks, then mount Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi CNC control units into machine cabinets—ensuring everything aligns with tight tolerances.

Documentation follows your work. You interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams, follow SOPs and detailed work instructions, and complete quality checklists. Before sign-off, you inspect assemblies to confirm they meet company and industry standards and log precise records of parts used and work completed.

Collaboration is constant. You sync with engineering to resolve technical questions, with quality to validate standards, and with manufacturing to keep production flowing. Safety anchors your day—you maintain an organized workspace and follow all mechanical and electrical safety practices.

What you bring

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical certificate or Associate degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years in precision mechanical or electrical assembly; background with CNC or industrial equipment is preferred.
• Technical skill set:
  • Hands-on proficiency with hand tools, electrical crimping, soldering, and wire stripping.
  • Ability to read and apply mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Comfort using multimeters, torque tools, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Foundational understanding of CNC machine components and operation is a plus.
• Core competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong manual dexterity, and clear written and verbal communication.
