Growing together.As a full time, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.Location: Memorial Hospital of Gardena in Gardena, CAPharmacy Hours: The centralized pharmacy is open 24/7 and supported by Paragon and PyxisSchedule: This full-time, nonexempt position will work up to 40 hours/week in a variety of day/evening/night shifts in this 24/7 centralized pharmacy.Primary Responsibilities:Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacistProcess prescription orders accurately, including entering patient and prescription data into pharmacy systemsAssist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiencyPrepare and compound medications (including IV admixtures and sterile products) following hospital protocols and USP standardsProcess medication orders from electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) with accuracy and urgencyDeliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing unitsMaintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration datesSupport medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentationCollaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication deliveryComply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and local, state, and federal regulationsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentCurrent California Pharmacy Technician license in good standingRecent work experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an acute care hospital settingProficiency with pharmacy softwarePreferred Qualification:PTCB/CPhT Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment.
