Senior Product Director - Utility, Medium Voltage

Join us and help run what runs the world.This position reports to:Vice President, Product Management__Working as the Utility Medium Voltage Senior Product Director, you will be leading a product management team that defines marketing and strategy plans and multi-generational product development plans, including marketing communication, training and sales initiatives for the Utility segment, and be a key leader of the marketing and sales team in Electrification Installation Products.Reporting to the ELIP Product & Marketing VP, you will lead the Utility segment product management team and oversee all steps in the life cycle of products, systems or services, including development, launch, maintenance, pricing and profitability of identified ELIP Utility product lines in North America. There is a cumulative 4 direct reports and 2 indirect reports for this position, and an approximate Portfolio Revenue responsibility of $500M+ USD.Candidates for this position are preferred to work a Hybrid schedule out of either our Memphis, TN; Hackettstown, NJ; or Ormond Beach, FL facilities. #LI-HybridYour responsibilities:Develop, update and drive the industry segment strategy based on customer VOC and market trends to meet divisional requirements and implements with country specific action plans and forward looking product plans. Leads the definition of the industry group footprint (market presence, execution standards and delivery model).Responsible for maximizing Gross Margin dollars for the identified ELIP product segment, optimizing the price/margin/share/sales equationDefines key targets (e.g. volume, prices, portfolio mix) and ensures these are achieved for the segment(s). Identifies key market segments and market trends. Ensures detailed business/sales plans are in place with regular follow up. Drives both top line sales and bottom line margin growth in each target industry segment.Oversees inventory levels and sales volumes to ensure ability to meet customer orders, while tracking and analyzing the performance and trends of ELIP industry segment. Identifies and leads portfolio mix management opportunitiesLeads and develops industry segment product management team, collaborates closely with R&D to propose and evaluate product feasibility projects and roadmaps, including Multi-Generational Product Plans for ELIP industry productsUnderstands and manages ELIP Utility segment P&L; leads improvement thru margin growth and cost improvement activitiesIdentifies segment portfolio M&A opportunitiesActively participates in the development of international standards and regulations by identifying and influencing the appropriate external bodies (including government, legislative bodies, technical and trade associations).Identifies and manages risk relating to contract agreements and prices across segments.Your background:A BS in Electrical Engineering, Engineering or equivalent required. MBA preferred15+ years of experience in Product Development and/or Sales in Utility related markets, with Electrical products related experienceDemonstrated leadership of product development teams, including leading cross functional teamsSound knowledge of and experience in Utility and Electrical markets; experience in specific ELIP Utility products preferredDemonstrated experience of managing marketing and sales strategiesKnowledge and experience of SFDC and SAPA collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong communication and relationship-building skillsCurrent US license valid in US and/or US related permitJob location: Preference Memphis, TN, Hackettstown, NJ or Ormond Beach, FL.Ability to travel 30%Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US.What's in it for youWe give you the space to lead, the support to grow, and the chance to make a difference.
