Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Resource Pool)

Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (19:00–07:00)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a telemetry/medical-surgical unit with a patient population that includes high Medicare/geriatric patients with multiple comorbidities, and diagnoses such as DM, COPD, cardiovascular disease, hepatic conditions, oncology, sepsis, and alcohol withdrawal
• Manage and monitor cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Nitroglycerin; proficiency in at least 3 of these 5 cardiac drips is required
• Maintain and manage central lines per unit protocols
• Float within the hospital across applicable units within scope of skill set (excluding L&D/Women's, ED, and Special Procedures)
• Complete accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic charting
• Provide weekend coverage on an every-other-weekend basis and work every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license required at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must have a successful prior travel nursing history; first-time travelers are not accepted (exception: 10+ years of experience in a teaching hospital with residents)
• 0–1 prior contract cancellations
• Proficiency in at least 3 of 5 required cardiac drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin
• Required certifications and skills: BLS , IV Start, Telemetry monitoring
• Flu vaccine required; exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a teaching hospital environment with residents highly preferred
• Vascular and oncology nursing experience
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, PCCN, ONS
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting
