The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as required by patient needs.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments that are sensitive to the unique issues faced by older adults, including cognitive and emotional health considerations.

• Design and execute customized treatment plans that address individual patient needs while considering physical health limitations and social dynamics.

• Utilize evidence-based therapy techniques in both individual and family sessions, ensuring therapeutic interventions are tailored to address specific geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Engage in collaborative care practices with geriatric psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to provide well-rounded support for patients.

• Provide crisis intervention services for elderly patients experiencing acute mental health crises.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on mental health diagnoses, treatment options, and available resources in the community to foster empowerment and understanding.

• Maintain precise and confidential patient records in accordance with regulatory standards and ethical guidelines.
\n
• Participate actively in team meetings and professional development initiatives to enhance both individual skills and team knowledge.

• Keep abreast of recent developments and emerging best practices in geriatric psychiatry through ongoing research and training.

The primary patient population served consists of elderly individuals facing various psychiatric challenges. These may include depression, anxiety disorders, and conditions associated with dementia or other cognitive impairments. Our approach emphasizes sensitivity towards the particular needs of older adults, ensuring a patient-centered methodology that respects their unique life experiences and perspectives.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure in Kansas as an LCMFT, LCPC, LCP, LCSW, LSCSW, or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly with elderly patients.
\n
• Strong foundation in geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment strategies.
\n
• Proficient in delivering therapeutic interventions to older adults and their families.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to connect empathetically with elderly populations.

• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant technology.
\n
• Experience in working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team setting.

• Comfort with telehealth platforms and remote therapy delivery.
