Job Description

• Operate a commercial dishwasher
• Hand wash dishes using a 3 compartment sink
• Follow all cleaning/sanitation procedures as directed by the kitchen manager
• Collect used trays after each lunch period
• Put away clean dishes
• Clean and maintain commercial dishwasher according to directions
• Clean and sanitize sink/dishwasher area as directed by the kitchen manager
• Assist with sweeping and/or mopping if time allows
• Maintains regular, reliable and punctual attendance
• The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout their employment in the District

Qualification Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Previous experience with large scale dishwashing/cleaning is preferable
• Experience working with High School-aged students preferred

Language Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, students, or other employees of the organization

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but basic written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and continuously required to stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and waist while performing the duties of this job. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp items. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and color vision.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; the employee regularly works indoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in temperatures above 100 degrees and frequently will walk on slippery surfaces. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud to where you have to raise your voice to be heard.
