We are looking to hire a Corporate Trainer in the city of Torrance, CA. This is a Direct Hire opportunity to join the Human Resources department of a growing manufacturing company!

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 annually
Job Summary:
The Corporate Trainer is responsible for the design, delivery, and evaluation of all training programs. This position will support the development, implementation, maintenance, tracking, auditing, and coordination of training throughout the organization.
The Corporate Trainer will coordinate with supervisors and department leaders to establish competency requirements across all job classification levels, including management, supervisory, and individual contributor roles. This position collaborates closely with Environmental Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Human Resources to ensure effective implementation and tracking of training programs and competency requirements approved by the FAA and aligned with the company’s Quality Management System and applicable State and Federal laws.
The Corporate Trainer will ensure training programs meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) compliance requirements , regulatory standards, operational needs, and certification requirements.
This position will also manage training certification and recertification requirements, train-the-trainer programs, documentation, tracking systems, and safety-related training. As the owner of organizational training, the Corporate Trainer will support Quality Assurance with FAA audits and help ensure all departments are prepared for internal and external audits.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop, deliver, and maintain training curricula.
- Conduct job analyses and partner with management to identify training gaps related to FAA-regulated manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and operational requirements.
- Develop FAA-compliant training programs, curricula, materials, and modules aligned with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company procedures.
- Conduct workshops, seminars, hands-on training, and other learning programs for administrative staff, operators, technicians, supervisors, and safety personnel.
- Ensure training sessions and documentation meet FAA compliance requirements, including recordkeeping, certification, and audit standards.
- Collaborate with management to develop qualification tests, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms to measure training effectiveness.
- Regularly review and update training materials based on regulatory changes, manufacturing processes, and learning management system requirements.
- Track employee progress and adherence to training standards.
- Coordinate technical and job qualification training with management and subject matter experts.
- Partner with Environmental Health and Safety on Cal/OSHA, environmental compliance, incident-related, and regulatory training.
- Coordinate with the Records Department on indexing, storage, retention, and retrieval of training and qualification records.
- Serve as the training subject matter expert during FAA and internal audits.
- Administer the learning management system, including course catalogs, role-based training matrices, curriculum assignments, and user administration.
- Maintain training and qualification records in accordance with FAA requirements, quality standards, and company retention policies.
- Track recurring training requirements and issue advance notification of upcoming and overdue training.
- Report training metrics to leadership and the Safety Review Board, including completion rates, overdue training, competency assessment results, and training effectiveness.
- Own training-related portions of corrective and preventive actions when root cause analysis identifies training deficiencies.
- Apply structured instructional design methodologies to develop courses from SOPs, work instructions, and regulatory source materials.
- Deliver training through instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, and structured on-the-job formats.
- Develop competency-based assessments that verify demonstrated proficiency.
- Establish and maintain a train-the-trainer program for production and quality subject matter experts.
- Design and deliver new hire onboarding and production orientation.
- Create job aids, visual work instructions, and reference materials for production floor use.
- Develop supervisory training covering coaching, performance documentation, progressive discipline, timekeeping, FLSA compliance, accommodations, leaves, and lawful hiring practices.
- Support leadership development, succession planning, individual development plans, and internal promotion readiness.
- Conduct organization-wide training needs assessments and maintain an annual training plan and budget.
- Manage external training vendors, instructors, and content providers.
- Administer tuition reimbursement and support apprenticeship and technical pipeline partnerships with local schools and trade programs.
Position Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience designing curricula and delivering instructor-led training to both production floor and management audiences.
- Demonstrated experience administering a learning management system and maintaining auditable training records.
- Working knowledge of training and competency requirements within an FAA-regulated manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Safety Management System requirements and safety promotion practices.
- Proven ability to design competency-based assessments and measure training effectiveness.
- Computer literacy, including e-learning authoring tools and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple competing deadlines.
Qualifications:
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Aviation Management, or a related field and five or more years of corporate training experience, including curriculum design and instructor-led delivery.
Professional certifications such as CPTD, ATD Master Trainer, SHRM-CP/SCP, or PHR are preferred. An equivalent combination of education and directly relevant industry training experience may be considered.

- Regulatory Knowledge: Ability to interpret FAA, Cal/OSHA, and California employment training requirements.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to research, measure, track, and report training completion, competency, and effectiveness.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple training initiatives, timelines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain training schedules and recertification cycles.
- Technical Skills: Ability to administer a learning management system and coordinate with Technical Publications, Quality Assurance, and Engineering.
- Discretion and Confidentiality: Ability to appropriately handle employee performance and personnel information.
- Relationship Building: Ability to develop strong working relationships with employees at all levels and collaborate with department leaders, managers, team members, and outside vendors.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Ability to work effectively across departments including Environmental Health and Safety, Records, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Human Resources.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None at this time. This position provides functional direction to subject matter experts and supervisors serving as designated on-the-job trainers and may supervise a Training Coordinator as the program grows.
Work Contacts:
This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources, with dotted-line reporting to the Director of Human Resources. The role works closely with Environmental Health and Safety, the Records Department, and the Director of Quality.
The position also interacts with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Purchasing, Facilities, Maintenance, Finance, Human Resources, administrative personnel, FAA representatives, third-party auditors, customers, training vendors, and local educational institutions.
Physical Effort:
This position may occasionally be required to lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to remain stationary for approximately 50% of the workday and stand and speak for extended periods while delivering instruction.
The role requires frequent movement throughout office, classroom, and production areas and regular use of computers, printers, scanners, audiovisual equipment, and other office productivity tools.

Must be able to perform the job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others. Must be able to read safety manuals, implement safety procedures, comply with PPE requirements in manufacturing areas, and model appropriate safety practices during training.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed throughout the facility as needed. The work environment ranges from clean, climate-controlled office and classroom spaces to active manufacturing areas with varying noise levels.
Occasional travel may be required for vendor training, industry conferences, and field support.
