Data Analyst

Position: Contract

Work Location: Remote

Position background: Coding and data analysis for high priority value-based care projects

Describe the team:

• There are 4 other team members consisting of analysts and scientists that the candidate would partner with

Responsibilities:

• Develop new and maintain existing SAS programs to extract, aggregate, and manipulate pharmacy and medical claims for analyses to support ad hoc data requests
• Participate in interpretation of business requirements and creation of technical specifications including data dictionaries and programming specs
• Perform statistical analysis, and generate reports to answer research questions
• Perform quality control checks on code, data sets, analytic outputs, research manuscripts and other deliverables

Ideal candidate background:

• Bachelors and/or masters degree in health services research, health economics, biostatistics, computer science, epidemiology, sociology, psychology or equivalent
• 3+ years experience programming in SAS (including proc SQL)
• 3+ years’ experience supporting health services, health economics, and outcomes research
• 3+ years’ experience with administrative claims data, EHR/EMR data, or complex relational health care databases required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience using large administrative claims assets from health plan/payers
