Bartender – Lalla Oceanside Seafood (Cannery Row)

Pay: $16.90 per hour (minimum wage) — plus tips and server tip-outs.
Schedule: Part-time position.
Shifts: Evening shifts only, 3–4 nights per week.

Lalla Oceanside Seafood is a contemporary seafood restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Cannery Row in Monterey. We pride ourselves on serving fresh, high-quality seafood, handcrafted cocktails, an exceptional wine selection, and delivering outstanding hospitality in a vibrant coastal setting.

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Bartender to join our front-of-house team. This role is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, providing exceptional guest service, and helping create a welcoming, high-energy bar environment.

You'll report directly to the Lalla Oceanside Management Team and work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient, and professional service.

Schedule Requirements:

• Evening shifts required.

• 3–4 nights per week.
• Friday and Saturday night availability is required.
• Sunday availability is strongly preferred.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Provide friendly, attentive, and professional guest service.
• Follow drink recipes while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar.
• Verify guest identification and comply with all California alcohol service laws.
• Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff.
• Complete opening and closing side work.
• Maintain sanitation, safety, and health department standards.

Requirements:

• 2–4+ years of bartending experience required.
• Strong knowledge of craft cocktails, beer, wine, tequila, mezcal, and spirits.
• Professional, reliable, and guest-focused attitude.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification, or ability to obtain after hire.
• Food Handler Card, or ability to obtain after hire.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
