Step into a dynamic contract role supporting students with special needs as an itinerant Resource Specialist Program (RSP) teacher. This full-time position centers around Lancaster, CA, providing essential coverage for medical leave. You’ll serve as a “rover,” working between two school sites with a caseload of 28 elementary and middle school students.
In this position, you’ll collaborate with school staff and families, tailoring individualized education plans and delivering instruction that meets students where they are. The minimum assignment is eight weeks, with the potential for extension, offering stability and a chance to make a profound impact on young learners during a pivotal time.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential (required)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly with RSP caseloads
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and compliance
- Ability to work effectively with students from elementary and middle school backgrounds
- Skilled at adapting instruction and providing inclusion support
- Reliable transportation for travel between two local campuses
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized academic support and accommodations per student IEPs
- Manage a caseload of 28 students, providing tailored interventions and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to facilitate student success
- Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation meets compliance standards
- Travel between two school sites as a dependable RSP resource
