Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 15 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 15 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring active NY RN license and at least 1 year of recent MS/Tele experience.Details\n \n MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting\n Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)\n Patient ratios are 5:1 during day/evening (stretch 6-7:1) and 6-7:1 at night (stretch 8-10:1 if staff call in)\n Patient population includes cardiovascular and wound care cases\n Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management\n Rapid Response Team activation and emergency response involvement\n IV therapy and phlebotomy including peripheral line care\n Respiratory support via nasal cannula, oxygen masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management\n Isolation precautions and PPE protocols followed\n Special equipment includes Hoyer lifts and wound vacs\n PCTs available on all units to assist with vitals, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs\n Every other weekend required\n Floating required to MS, ICU, or ED to provide Med/Surg-level care or assist as helping hands, without practicing outside scope\n EPIC EMR experience preferred\n Requirements\n \n Active NY RN license required in hand\n BLS certification required\n NIHSS certification preferred\n Minimum 1 year of recent MS/Tele experience required\n Competency with phlebotomy and IV placement required\n EPIC charting experience preferred\n Teaching hospital experience preferred\n Additional Information\n \n Orientation includes pre-start modules and a 4-hour classroom session with an educator, followed by unit-based orientation for the remainder of the shift\n Scrub color requirement: navy blue or white\n First-time travelers accepted\n Facility does not accept candidates who previously worked for the health system within the past 6 months\n Candidates must keep requested time off to approximately 1 week\n No local candidates accepted within 75 miles of the facility\n Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-752545.
